Care about your team

Do you keep your team at arm's length?

That approach may be holding you back.

When I first started in a leadership role, I was given advice to not get too involved with my team.

They suggested I avoid sharing too much about myself and not ask too much about my team either.

But I quickly learned that this advice was problematic.

If you want to develop trust with your team members, you need to have a deep understanding of who they are.

And that means caring about them both professionally and personally.

It wasn't until I started genuinely caring about my team members that I saw a significant transformation in our productivity and morale.

So, ask yourself:

Do you genuinely care about the people on your team?

If not, it's time to make a change.

Your ability to connect with and show that you care can make all the difference in your leadership success.
