CliftonStrengths: The power of shared language
I arrived to facilitate a full-day workshop with a team I’d never met before.
As they trickled in, it was immediately clear.
This was a team who was steeped in team conflict.
(And not the good kind.)
You could feel the tension in the room.
Arms crossed.
Expressions guarded.
Side glances when someone spoke.
And my job that day?
To help them see each other through the lens of their CliftonStrengths profiles.
At first, it felt a little abstract.
But then the connections began to land.
One leader realized the “pushback” she always got from a colleague wasn’t personal.
It was his strength of Analytical at work.
Another discovered that her tendency to jump into action wasn’t impatience.
It was her Activator showing up.
The energy shifted.
What had been points of friction turned into points of curiosity.
The team leaned in.
And started asking questions they’d never asked before.
For the first time, there was openness.
Vulnerability.
A willingness to understand.
By the end of the workshop, they weren’t just seeing each other differently.
They were ready to work together differently.
That’s the power of a shared language.
It helps teams understand, value, and work with each other, not against each other.
This is why I love leading CliftonStrengths workshops.
They unlock trust, spark collaboration, and set teams up for sustainable high performance.
Imagine your team walking out of the room with that kind of clarity.
It's game-changing.
