Bigger isn’t always better
In my work as a team coach, leaders come to me looking for clarity on their team’s mission or purpose.
They think that's the issue holding their team back from success.
But sometimes the issue is something they haven’t considered:
The team is too big.
Research and experience show that smaller teams consistently deliver better results.
Why?
Because on small teams:
✅ Communication is tighter.
✅ Collaboration flows better.
✅ Everyone can stay aligned.
The sweet spot?
Teams of 6 to 8 people, including YOU.
I can hear you saying “That’s impossible, Susanne.”
It’s not.
But it does require strategy.
If you’re trying to steer a 20-person "team" to success, it might be time to rethink the structure.
That large group you have?
It might not even be functioning as a real team.
And that might be exactly what’s holding you back.
