Everyone needs a support system
Behind every entrepreneur is their support system.
In my case, one of them also happens to work for me.
My daughter Tess Carpenter has been part of Carpenter Leadership Consulting since I started it in 2022.
Yes, she's an employee.
No, she's not here all the time.
She's off at college now, so I don't get her often.
But when I do, it's always a treat to have her jump back in.
On Tuesday, I got that chance again.
Her flight back to school was canceled.
(Yes, canceled. For those keeping track, that's the 4th Delta Air Lines cancellation for the Carpenters this month. Thank you very much, Delta. I think we need to talk.)
So she got to work, sorting and filing all the behind-the-scenes stuff that had been piling up.
5 months, 22 retreats, and 1 house move will do that.
Tasks I kept putting off.
And she tackled them in no time.
It reminded me of something I think about a lot.
When you work with a small business, you're rarely working with just one person.
There's usually a family behind them too, pitching in when they can.
Thank you, Tess, for getting me back on track this week.
She just set up her LinkedIn profile, so be sure to say hi!
