Your Friday reminder

It's not always going to go as planned.

In a recent 1:1 coaching session, a client shared the disappointment they felt after a key initiative their team had been working on fell flat.

We sat in that space for a bit.

They acknowledged the frustration.
The letdown.
The sense of “what now?”

Then I asked:

"What does moving forward look like now?"

They paused.

And slowly, started naming possibilities.

Ideas that had been on the back burner.
Opportunities hiding in plain sight.

This is the work.

Failures aren’t endings.
They’re often redirections.

They point us toward growth, clarity, or influence we might not have chosen on our own.

But as leaders, it’s easy to keep staring at what didn’t work.

Your job is to stay open to what could be.
And to help your team do the same.

Sometimes, the next opportunity is already here.
You just need to lean into the discomfort to find it.
