Leading can feel isolating, but there’s a solution
Yesterday was the final session of the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools (PAIS) Senior Leader Squad.
Eight months together.
And I'm still sitting with it.
These were busy, stretched-thin leaders who showed up.
Once a month.
90 minutes.
Not to perform.
Not to have the right answers.
To actually think.
They asked questions they hadn't said out loud before.
They pushed each other.
They were honest in ways that don't come easy.
That's where the real work happens.
Leading can feel isolating.
Especially at the senior level.
A cohort like this creates something rare.
A space to talk about the real challenges of leadership.
To every leader in this cohort: it was a privilege to walk alongside you this year. You showed up fully. That matters.
And a huge thank you to Deb Borden for bringing this all together again this year.
I get to do this work.
And I don't take that lightly.
If you're a senior leader wondering what it would look like to have that kind of space for yourself, I'd love to talk.
