Learn from your mistakes

No one sets out to be a bad leader.

But even the best leaders fall into these foolish mistakes:

1. Ignoring feedback – If your team isn’t speaking up, it’s not because everything’s perfect. Great leaders create space for real conversations.

2. Avoiding tough conversations – Hoping problems magically disappear? They won’t. Leadership means addressing issues before they spiral.

3. Overpromising, under-delivering – Saying “yes” to everything means disappointing everyone. Smart leaders set clear priorities and follow through.

4. Micromanaging instead of trusting – Want a disengaged team? Keep hovering. Want a high-performing team? Empower them.

5. Forgetting to celebrate wins – If you don’t recognize progress, your team will feel like it doesn’t matter. Even a simple “great job” goes a long way.

Being a great leader isn’t about being perfect.

So don’t avoid mistakes.

Learn from them.
