Positive feedback

Over the years, I kept a positive notes file.

In it are notes given to me about my impact on others.

They’re mostly handwritten.

And came from supervisors, colleagues, parents, and even students.

I didn’t keep everything.

But the ones I did keep, I look at every so often.

They are helpful to look at on days that feel impossible.

Or when I am questioning my work or my direction.

Feedback doesn’t always have to be constructive or negative.

Positive feedback can have a lasting effect.

And be the thing someone returns to years from now.
