Real team strength begins here

In a recent CliftonStrengths workshop, a quiet moment caught the whole room’s attention.

We were talking about how different strengths show up on a team when someone with high "Intellection" said:

“I know people think I’m slow to contribute. I’m not disengaged. I just need time to think.”

You could feel the shift.

The team had never heard it put that way.
So we unpacked it together.

What looked like hesitation was actually their superpower.

They were the person who brought depth.
The one who considered angles that others missed.
The one who made the final decision stronger.

Once the team saw it, everything changed.

They started inviting this person in earlier.
They added pre-reads to their meetings.
They made space for them to think and contribute in the way they do best.

And that one moment opened up a bigger truth.

When teams understand each other’s strengths, trust grows.

Conversations deepen.
People feel seen.
And that is where real team strength begins.
