The Leader as Coach - Austin, TX
What a week in Austin!
After many years away, I returned to the annual Enrollment Management Association (E3n) Annual Conference.
I used to attend faithfully when I worked in independent school admission.
And it felt so good to be back in that community.
Highlights for me included:
✨ Co-presenting “The Leader as Coach” with Elise Estes from St. Mark's School’s School.
✨ Re-connecting with colleagues who knew me when I was just starting out.
✨ Meeting new people who are shaping the future of enrollment and leadership.
✨ An early birthday JuiceLand treat (a Carpenter family favorite!).
✨ Some good family time with Casey-Jane Weinstein.
✨ Watching the bats fly with Kristin Eisenhardt. (How have I not done this in all of my trips to Austin?)
I deeply valued the time spent talking, connecting, and making space for one another.
It was both nostalgic and energizing to return.
I’m already looking forward to seeing everyone again!
Big thanks to everyone I got to connect with: Joe Alford, Anne Behnke, Jeffrey Beaton, Ari Betof, Nina Bjurlin, Emily Anderson Breite, Hattie Briggs, Scott Butterworth, Sylvia Connolly, Jorge Delgado, Jeanne Epstein, Mike Flanagan, Polly Fredlund, Claire Goldsmith, Maurice Hill, Bridget Johnson, Kristen Kashcub, Meredith Kenny, Cary Kirby, Tianna Lall-Emard, Lynne Macziewski, Rebecca Malotke-Meslin, Vivien Valenzuela Mallick, Megan Melbourne, Elizabeth Parfit, Lela Paultre, Carson Roy, Brendan Schneider, Kevin Smith, Mary Sullivan, Kelsey Vrooman, Julie Wadland, Debra Wilson, and so many others.
