Last week, I finally did it.

I chose my family over work.

I passed up attending the National Association of Independent Schools annual conference that everyone was expecting me to attend.

For too long, I put work before everything else.

With my daughter's college years looming ahead, it was time to make a change.

Instead of going to the conference, I hit the beach with my husband and daughter.

It was glorious.

🌴 Long, lazy days on the beach
🌴 Loads of tacos consumed
🌴 Lots of books read
🌴 Spectacular sunsets
🌴 Quality time with the two people who matter most

And you know what?

The world kept spinning.

My inbox didn't explode.

I booked work while I was away.

Most importantly, I came back to work feeling more refreshed than ever.

So, if you're feeling guilty about prioritizing your family over work, take it from me - it's worth it.

And who knows? You might just come back better than before.
