Why do leaders stop growing?

Usually because experience makes you fast.

You’ve seen this problem before.

You know how this meeting goes.

You’ve had this conversation a dozen times.

So you stop asking questions.

And jump to the answer you already have.

I know this one well.

There was a point in my career where I could predict how almost every conversation would go.

Then the approach I’d relied on for years stopped working.

And I realized I’d stopped noticing why it worked in the first place.

Here’s the thing:

The leaders I see keep growing do one thing differently.

They stay curious about their own defaults.

→ Why do I always handle it this way?

→ What would I try if I didn’t already know the answer?

→ Who sees this differently than I do?

Experience gets you to the top.

Curiosity keeps you there.
