Leading Through Change: How Will You Show Up?

March is a funny month in New England. Winter is fading, but it hasn’t fully let go. There’s still a chance of snow. Yet, I see signs of spring everywhere–longer days, warmer temperatures, and chives sprouting in my garden.

Spring is a season of change, and it has me thinking about the change we navigate every day in our work. We know that change is a constant. Learning to navigate it effectively is one of the most critical leadership skills you can develop.

Whether you’re helping your team through a transition or adapting to an organizational shift, how you show up in these moments can define your success. By reframing challenges as opportunities, you can help yourself and your team embrace change with resilience and purpose. Change can become less daunting and more empowering.

As you think about your own leadership, ask yourself: How do I show up during times of change? Think of this month as an opportunity to strengthen your leadership during change and inspire others to do the same.

Best,

Susanne

Change is inevitable, but great leaders approach it with intentionality. Take 10 minutes to reflect on your approach to leading change in your organization or team. Use the questions below to guide your thinking.

STEP 1: Reflect on past experiences (4 minutes)

✔ Think about a time when you successfully led or supported a change initiative.

✔ What made it successful?

✔ What was your role in driving that success?

What did you learn about yourself as a leader?

✔ Now think about a time when a change initiative didn’t go as planned.

✔ What were the biggest challenges?

✔ How did you approach them?

✔ What would you do differently next time?
