An inspiring leadership lesson

Counterintuitive leadership lesson:

The best time for a team retreat is often when it feels like you can't afford to take one.

Yesterday, amidst looming deadlines and mounting tasks, the Admissions team at St. Mark's School made the intentional choice to press pause and come together.

Watching this group strengthen their bonds and reimagine their approach to the upcoming reading season was inspiring.

Why slowing down matters:

✅ Team alignment beats busy work every time.

✅ Strategic pauses create the space innovation needs to thrive.

✅ Investing in connection pays dividends during high-pressure periods.

A big thank you to Elise Estes and Anne Behnke for making yesterday happen.

I always love working with this incredible team!
