Blend not balance

The concept of balance has come up in several coaching sessions lately.

And I admittedly am biased against it.

Balance, to me, shouldn’t be the ultimate goal.

Instead, what if you focused on finding the right blend for yourself?

I often have my clients think about how they take their coffee.

Some prefer it black.

Others with cream and sugar.

Some hot.

Some switch to cold in the summer.

Your perfect cup is unique to you.

So should your days.

Some days, you might need to pour more into your work.

Other days, you might need space for creative time.

And sometimes the day might be entirely for family.

Just because one approach works for one person, doesn’t mean it’s right for you.

Just like your coffee, your work blend is unique.

And that’s what makes it powerful.

Let's stop feeling guilty for not having balance.

And focus on what blend works for you today.

P.S. Shout out to one of my favorite spots- The Carpenter Hotel. A must-visit if you're in Austin, TX. And not just because their name is awesome.
