Don’t rush
The topic of disconnecting from work comes up frequently when I’m working with coaching clients.
It’s easy to think that disconnecting means taking a day off.
Or going away on vacation.
But it can be as simple as not looking at your phone the hour before you go to bed.
As a leader, you need rest.
Not just physical rest.
But also mental rest.
Staying on email, Slack or messages right up until you go to bed is like trying to drive into a parking spot at 40mph.
You need to slow down to enter rest.
So you can actually disconnect.
