Your Friday reminder
My dear friend and former colleague from Walnut Hill School for the Arts, Linda Lifsey Hughes, was well-known for saying this phrase.
And it’s something I’ve quoted multiple times in coaching sessions this week.
Why?
Because the biggest leadership pitfall is prioritizing speed over alignment.
I hear it all the time:
“We don’t have time for long discussions. We need to execute.”
But here’s the truth:
Execution without clarity leads to confusion, rework, and wasted time.
Slowing down to align your team around the why, the what, and the how may feel like a delay.
But it’s the foundation for faster, smoother progress down the road.
Today, in honor of Linda’s memory, I’m choosing to slow down.
I’m taking time to align, clarify, and create lasting momentum.
And I encourage you to do the same.
