Momentum > Perfection

Do you ever find yourself stuck trying to get everything perfect before moving forward?

I definitely do.

It’s the moment when my focus shifts from driving progress to obsessing over the tiniest details.

And it can come at a significant cost.

Momentum.

It’s something I am constantly working on to improve.

And is a challenge that comes up with some of with my 1:1 coaching clients as well.

There’s a fine line between being thorough and letting perfectionism halt progress.

So here are some things to try if you find yourself in this situation:

Embrace “good enough.”
(It's okay to move forward. I promise.)

Trust that refinement comes with iteration.
(The best insights often come from acting on what you have, not waiting for everything to be perfect.)

Ask others for input to get you out of your head.
(Sometimes perfection puts on blinders. Feedback from others can help you gain clarity and move forward.)

Recognize when you're trading progress for perfection.
(Are you actually being productive or are you just spinning your wheels?)

As a leader, it’s critical for you to keep things moving.

For yourself.
And for your team.
