Rethink your workday
If the only time you're getting your real work done is late at night, it's a signal that something needs to shift.
I've been there.
Caught in the endless cycle of back-to-back meetings and constant interruptions.
Then finding myself back on my computer plugging away to get the work done after 8pm.
It’s exhausting.
And it’s unsustainable.
It’s time to rethink how we approach our workdays.
Imagine if we normalized focus time during regular hours.
A period free from meetings and distractions that’s dedicated solely to deep, productive work.
How much more effective and balanced could your days become?
You can start with even just an hour a week:
First, block your calendar and schedule the time for deep work.
Treat these blocks as non-negotiable like any other important meeting.
Then, communicate with your team about your focus time and encourage them to do the same.
Let them know that during these periods, you’re unavailable for meetings or quick chats unless it’s an emergency.
Focus time isn’t time for dealing with emails/slacks/messages.
It’s time to tackle the more important items that require your full attention.
Remember:
It’s okay to do work at work.
