Start with you

"I don’t need coaching. My team does."

I hear this a lot in my work with leaders.

And I get it.

Your team does need support.

Leadership is challenging work.
And helping your team grow is one of your primary responsibilities.

But here’s the thing:
Teams rarely outgrow or outperform their leader.

If your team is stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, then chances are they’re reflecting your patterns.

Not just their own.

That’s not a criticism.
It’s just how leadership works.

When I’m brought in to work with teams, I always start with the leader.
And then work with the rest of the team.

Because when a leader models growth, everything else starts to shift.

Communication gets clearer.
Expectations get sharper.
Culture gets stronger.
Results get better.

If you want a strong team, start with you.
And grow together.

That’s leadership.
