Thank you Hotchkiss

I spent yesterday at the Hotchkiss School working with their Heads of Department for their August retreat.

The topic: navigating feedback conversations.

It's one of my favorite things to talk about.

Most of us never stop to notice how much nuance these conversations actually hold.

That's especially true in a boarding school.

Your direct reports are also your neighbors.

Your colleagues are your friends.

The person you need to have a hard conversation with might be the person you sit next to at dinner.

This group was willing to sit in that complexity and do the real work of it.

A full afternoon of leaning in.

A huge thank you to Amber Douglas, Shannon Clark, and Claudia McGuigan for helping plan and coordinate the day.

I can't wait to hear how the year kicks off!
