The most important person you lead

I took a quick trip to Nashville this weekend.

And I left filled up.

I had the privilege of being the closing keynote for the New and Emerging Leaders Institute for TAIS (Tennessee Association of Independent Schools) on the campus of Vanderbilt Peabody College.

The topic: The Most Important Person You Lead

Spoiler: It's you.

We spent the session digging into the practice of self-leadership.

Here's the thing.
Self-leadership doesn't require hours and hours or even a retreat.

It requires intention.
And a plan.

Before we wrapped, every leader in the room had mapped out their leadership growth focus for the next 30 days.

30 days.

That's where it starts.

This group was thoughtful, curious, and deeply committed to growing.

Watching the next generation of independent school leaders step into their own was the best way to spend a weekend.

A sincere thank you to Sarah Wilson and Kara Vaughnfor building something worth showing up for.
