What makes a good retreat?
Most people picture a team retreat as trust falls and forced fun.
The good ones are almost the opposite.
What actually makes a retreat work is boring to describe.
✔️ Protected time
✔️ A clear structure
✔️ Permission to say the things that don't fit in a normal meeting
The teams I work with don't get more aligned by accident.
Someone has to make the room for it.
Block the day.
Hold the structure.
Keep it safe enough that people tell the truth.
Here's the thing:
You don't need an outside facilitator to make the day work.
But you do need a plan.
And if you'd rather be in the room with your team than running it, that's the work I do.
My summer calendar fills early.
If a retreat is on your mind for next year, now's the time to start the conversation.
Let's talk.
