Leadership That Celebrates Wins

As the year winds down, it’s easy to focus on what’s left to do instead of what’s been accomplished.

Yet one of the simplest and most powerful leadership practices is gratitude. Celebrating wins not only motivates your team, but it also reinforces the behaviors and values that drive success.

How do you recognize the efforts, wins, and contributions that often go unnoticed?

I encourage you to take time this month to celebrate wins, big or small, and express gratitude for those who make your team stronger. When you do, you’ll create a positive ripple effect that extends far beyond the immediate moment.

Remember, even small gestures of appreciation can have a profound impact on morale, engagement, and team culture. Taking the time to acknowledge effort and celebrate wins not only strengthens your team, it also reinforces the kind of leadership you want to model every day.

And on that note, I want to express my gratitude to you. Thank you for being part of the Carpenter Leadership Consulting community. I’m truly fortunate to have you along on this journey.

Best,
Susanne

As leaders, it’s easy to focus on what’s on your plate. Yet, pausing to notice what’s going well, and who is contributing to those successes, can have a profound impact on team morale, engagement, and trust. Gratitude isn’t just a nice-to-have. It’s a leadership tool that strengthens connection, celebrates effort, and reinforces the behaviors that drive results.

This month, try this simple, intentional practice with your team to put gratitude at the center of your leadership. You can find the full exercise on my website.

“The Power of Small Wins” by Teresa M. Amabile & Steven J. Kramer

I am a big believer in tracking small wins, and this Harvard Business Review article is a great reminder of the power of progress.

Even the most capable leaders can find themselves moving from one meeting, decision, or deadline to the next with little space to pause, reflect, or reconnect with what matters most. Over time, the habits that once fueled your success can start to feel like routines that drain it.

What if you could re-start your leadership from a different place?

That’s why I created The Leadership Reset, a three-week, self-paced course designed to help high-performing leaders realign, refocus, and strengthen their presence.

Through 18 short lessons you’ll:

  • Gain clarity on your leadership values and strengths

  • Build confidence in how you show up each day

  • Develop habits that elevate your presence and impact

This is your opportunity to step off autopilot and lead with greater intention and impact. On your own time. At your own pace.
