Building a culture of trust
“We don’t have a trusting culture.”
This was said to me recently by a Head of School.
It was a moment of raw honesty.
One that many leaders might shy away from.
However, recognizing the gap is the first step toward change.
Building a culture of trust isn’t a “quick fix.”
It’s a commitment to consistently showing up authentically, listening, and following through.
Here are three ways you can start re-building trust today:
1️⃣ Be clear: Share the why behind decisions, even when it's hard.
2️⃣ Be vulnerable: Leaders go first. Admit mistakes.
3️⃣ Be consistent: Show up, day in and day out. Actions matter more than words.
We can’t fix what we don’t acknowledge.
And trust?
It starts at the top with you.
