Space for reflection and connection

Every morning this week, I started my day at the Alderbrook Resort & Spa with a walk down to the water.

The view stopped me in my tracks every time.

Quiet.
Expansive.
Steady.

A reminder of how important it is to create space to reflect and be present.

That setting made the experience of speaking at the Northwest Association of Independent Schools Leadership Institute even more meaningful.

It was a true privilege to speak to so many thoughtful and committed school leaders.

We explored what it means to lead with curiosity and purpose.
And ways to build trust, foster innovation, and create cultures where people can do their best work.

What stood out most were the conversations.

There’s something powerful about being in a room full of leaders who are willing to ask big questions, listen deeply, and support each other’s growth.

Plus, I had the chance to hear Brad R. speak.
His talk was insightful and still has me thinking.

I left inspired by the people I met and the work they’re doing in their schools and communities.

Huge thanks to Emily McGrath, Jami Sheets, and Vivian-Tram Hoang for making this opportunity possible.

And for creating such a welcoming and well-organized experience from start to finish.

It was hard to leave both the people and the place.
